The West Yorkshire for Innovation team attended the National Police LGBT Conference which was held at the Leeds Civic Hall on 16th June 2017, to disseminate Unity. The event was attended by representatives from 40 police forces from across the UK. The event also included presentations from the Blast Project, which is the UK’s leading male only sexual exploitation service, Barnardos were also present along with the LGBT rights charity Stonewall. The speakers at the conference discussed various issues facing the LGBT community and the importance of partnership working in relation to LGBT-related policing issues.
